BOOKLET DESIGN

UNSW ART + DESIGN
DISPLACEMENT CHINA RESIDENCY

This booklet was designed for the 2014 UNSW Art + Design Porosity Course, led by artist and architect Richard Goodwin. The Porosity Studio is an interdisciplinary program for final-year undergraduate students in Fine Art, Design, Media Studies, Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Engineering. The intensive studio focuses on critically investigating contemporary urban space and the intersections of public and private space, emphasising the need for architecture to be porous.

The 2014 program explored the concept of Porosity &

Dis-place-ment in the city of Tianjin, China. The final booklet features project concepts, artist profiles, and final exhibition photos. I approached the booklet in a minimalist block layout to keep the focus on the artworks, complemented by a red and black colour palette that reflects Chinese culture and aesthetics.
