ECO LIVING MARKETS
3d graphic UPCYCLED billboard SIGNAGE

Eco Living was a UNSW Art + Design project focused on creatively reconnecting Cockatoo Island with the City of Sydney. The island embodies many layers of Australian history and hosts recreational events that honor its heritage.

Inspired by historical and topographical research, I proposed the 'Eco Living Markets' as a sustainable event supporting contemporary ethical design culture. Hypothetically situated at the island's front entrance, these markets would cater to Sydney residents who advocate for a green future. They would feature ethical and environmentally friendly stalls, including handmade and reused products, organic food, and information on sustainable living

I believed this event to be an opportunity to address today’s social and environmental needs while connecting to the island's historical significance. The Eco Living Markets would promote a sustainable vision of consumption, creation, and everyday living.

My project deliverables included graphic and object design elements. I created a mock-up of 3D event signage for the markets' entrance, made entirely from found and reused materials inspired by the island's industrial remains. The signage featured a cohesive color scheme, stylised laser-cut typography, and minimal yet eye-catching graphic symbols.
